What we promise, and what we refuse

These are the rules we work to. They are published before you buy, so you can hold us to them, and so you can compare them against whoever else is pitching you.

The law’s rules

Things that are illegal, whatever anyone tells you

You will be offered these by somebody. The penalties land on your business, not on the person who sold them to you.

We will never buy you reviews.
Fake reviews are illegal under the FTC rule, and the penalties fall on the business, not only on the agency that arranged them. Anyone offering you "50 five-star reviews" is offering you a fine.
We will never filter who gets asked.
Asking only your happy customers for a review, known as review gating, is illegal under the same rule. We ask everyone, and let the score land where it lands.
We will not text your customers.
For vape and tobacco that is carrier-banned outright. For everyone else it is a good way to be resented. Email, a QR code and a card at the counter do the work.

Google’s rules

Things that get a profile suspended

For a local business a suspended Google profile is worse than a bad website. It is most of how people find you.

We will not buy links for you.
Buying links breaks Google’s policy and risks the one thing your business cannot afford to lose. For a local shop they barely move the map anyway. The profile, the pages and the reviews do.
We will not put banned content on your profile.
Some categories cannot advertise deals, pricing or purchase links at all. We know which, and we will tell you before you sign rather than after your listing is suspended.
We will not incentivise your staff to collect reviews.
Google banned staff review quotas outright in April 2026. We can help you earn reviews. We cannot help you manufacture them, and would not.

Our own rules

Things we have decided, and will not quietly change

No contract. Month to month.
If we are not earning it, leave. We would rather lose a client who is not getting value than keep them under a twelve-month term.
The domain transfers to you if you go.
It carries your business name and it should be yours. Once the account is settled it comes with you. That is in the agreement, not a favour we might do.
We will not promise you the top three.
Where you appear depends heavily on how far away the person searching is standing, and nobody changes that. We will show you a grid of your whole area so you can see where you win and where you do not, rather than one flattering search from your own doorstep.
We do not write your business a history it does not have.
No invented landmarks, prices, awards or years in business. If you did not tell us something, it does not appear on your website. It is why the form asks what it asks.
Nothing is unlimited.
Anyone promising unlimited pages or unlimited revisions is either not doing them or is about to stop answering the phone. We would rather tell you what you get.
Your listings are submitted, not rented.
Some services rent you directory listings that vanish the day you stop paying them. Where we submit your details, we submit them permanently.

How long things actually take

Nobody else puts these on a website. They are the real numbers, and knowing them in advance is the difference between patience and a cancelled account in month two.

Your homepage gets indexed
Usually one to two weeks
Interior pages get indexed
Usually four to eight weeks
Pages that never index at all
20–40%, and that happens to everybody
Movement in the map
Usually starts around month three

Any agency promising faster is guessing, and any agency promising a position is guessing twice.
